DS1 was about 17 weeks, Ds2 was really early, Im sure I felt him very very early and I had definately felt him by 14 weeks, and this one I had very occasional flutters at 14 weeks but didnt really feel him until 20 weeks.

I have an anterior placenta with this one which masks a lot of the movements early on. I felt real movements probably from about 18 weeks, little flutters before but easily missed!

Seemed a bit later this time as sure I felt my second a bit earier. Sure you will feel little one really soon! Thank you everyone The way the baby is moving on the scans I know once I start feeling movement I will know about it!

I'm just being very impatient. Its horrible waiting for them to start moving, especially when its not your first and you know what to expect! I wasnt sure whether it was gas or kicking with my first, not till I actually SAW my baby move, about 20 weeks, then with second I noticed a bit earlier maybe 18 weeks? I am woken up by getting kicked, I'm kicked all day, then I cant go to sleep cos of the kicking!

I hope he starts kicking for you soon hun, but not too much! Sophi x x. Netmums-to-be when did you feel your baby move from the outside??? Netmums-to-be Constant eyelid twitching third trimester. Netmums-to-be For those who know the gender, what was the heart rate? Hi, I should not worry im on baby number 3 and did not feel any real movements until 20 weeks!

Now its all night, sign of things to come! LOL Bev. Morning sickness might start to fade thank goodness! The first movements known as quickening start in the second trimester. Instead, you may feel a strange sensation that you can only describe as a flutter. Imagine a tiny fish swimming in your stomach or a bit lower, really — odd as it may sound, this is likely what those first movements will feel like.

It can start as early as 14 weeks, but 18 weeks is more of the average. But you can expect a wild, acrobatic ride later in the pregnancy! This brings us to the third trimester , also known as the home stretch. Things are getting a little cramped. Your precious babe hurting you? The joy of feeling your baby move is heightened when you can share it with your partner, or friend, or family members.

But in most cases, your partner should be able to detect movement a few weeks after you. If your partner places their hand on your stomach, they may feel the baby move as early as week As your baby becomes bigger and stronger, your partner or others you allow will not only feel kicks, but also see kicks. Your baby may even begin to respond to familiar voices around week 25, so speaking to your baby could prompt a kick or two.

While some of those earlier movements may feel like a wave or a fish swimming in your belly, movement can also mimic feelings of gas or hunger pangs. Sometimes, your baby moving can feel like little ticks in your belly.

In all likelihood, your baby has begun hiccuping , which is completely harmless. In fact, inconsistent movement is perfectly normal in this trimester.

Remember, your baby is still tiny. You might even begin to notice regular patterns of movement. Your baby may be more active in the mornings, and calmer in the afternoons and evenings, or vice versa.

It really depends on their sleep cycle. Sit with your feet up or lie on your side. Note the time on the clock, and then start counting the number of kicks, nudges, and punches you feel. Keep counting up to 10, and then write down how long it took to feel 10 movements. If it normally takes 45 minutes to count 10 kicks, and then one day it takes two hours to count 10 kicks, call your doctor.
