Why is country music so popular

Or maybe it is just my readers. Most churches live in denial. Country music seems to be more real. Now, I only listen to the classic country stuff. The newer country stuff to me, anyway all sounds alike. I am a big fan of the reflections on transparency and acceptance. The love and power of Christ is what allows Christians to be open about our sin while also finding the power to overcome sin.

We do not have to hide our sin; we are accepted just as we are and are cleansed of it by someone else. We do not have to succumb to sin; the power of God is at work in our lives to constantly change us into the image of Christ until a final victory on the last day from even the presence of sin in our selves and in our world.

I love country music as well. I believe that country music, beside Christian music, is really the only genre that confesses sin and calls out to God for help to do the right thing or be a better person. It is a sincere music that speaks to the working person and lower class.

The newer country music is sometimes repetitive and some artists sound too similar to others. But there are still messages of failure then hope for change or forgiveness. Either from a person or God Himself. I like that about country music. Especially older country music. Good stuff.

Rather than write music that they enjoy, country artists write music based on what their fans want to hear. The songs are emotional. Country songs all have lyrics that display either happiness or sadness. The lyrics are so powerful that when simply read out loud like a story they have the same meaning and emotion as when they are backed by instrumentation.

The songs are understandable. Because the lyrics are so literal, you do not have to think about what the song means when you listen to it. The artist tells you exactly what it is about, there are no confusing metaphors that make you think for yourself.

Then I can enjoy the song and understand it! The lyrics are meaningful stories. The lyrics to a country song manage to mix emotions, just as a story twists and turns, even while keeping the same tempo, chord progression, and instrumental theme underneath. Also, the lyrics tell valuable life lessons, straying away from topics such as sex, alcohol, and money. The musicians are very knowledgeable. The artists are very talented. Country music is quickly becoming the most popular music genre in the US.
