What does bedroom hymns mean
My Opinion This sounds and feels like a Tori Amos song. Fallen on October 27, Link. General Comment I'm But that's just me My Interpretation I think this song is about the bedroom hymms that people make during sex.
When she says 'this is his body, this is his love' I don't think she's referring to god or Jesus. She's worshiping her lover and the incredible chemistry they have in the bedroom. When she say's: 'I'm not looking for Absolution, Because I've found myself and old solution' I see it as, I'm not looking for forgiveness for this act of pure lust.
I'm not going to feel guilty because I've found the old solution of just going with it and fulfilling our needs. WhoaBo on May 27, Link. My Interpretation For me, this song is paying homage to sex and lust with the use of religious references. Here are my literal interpretations of some of the lyrics excuse my dirty mind and lack of eloquence : This is as good a place to fall as any We can die here and enter heaven We'll build our altar here we'll build a religious structure where religious rites and acts are performed; comparing sex to a sacred act Make me your Maria this sounds incredibly kinky to me I'd look into this further but I'm lazy atm.
An "homage to sex and lust"? Great interpretation. Why are called "bobeeny"? My Interpretation Bobeeny's comment is definitely spot on and what I gathered this to be. It's a personal, intimate song, and I almost have the feeling that it stemmed from looking for greater answers.
It is the greatest and most powerful love she knows, thus, it is akin to Christ's love. A lot of philosophers have discussed this intimate love as being extreme holy, so maybe this is her take on saying "eros" romantic love over "agape" unconditional love. General Comment Wow, I never noticed how Though the title should have clued me in in popular music, bedrooms aren't usually mentioned for sleeping I love the juxtaposition between spirituality and sexuality.
Implying that sex is something holy. The first verse sounds almost sacriligious. EnduringChill on October 20, Link. Also, "spilled milk tears I think that line is referring to that saying, although I don't know what it means in the context of the song. EnduringChill on October 20, Lyric Correction I think this: Spilt bitter tears, I did this for you Spilling over the aisle, the black and the blue Spilt-milk tears, I did this for you, Spilling over the idol, the black and the blue Fictionalhead on October 29, Link.
