For the most part Subaru makes some good cars. But if you're really into off-roading, or want a Wrangler, there's no competition yet. Being able to take off the doors, or the top is a unique experience that no other vehicle can match.

That's why I just bought one. Probably will be more of a pain in the ass than a Subaru over time but it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. To each his own though Cog wrote on November 5, - am Permalink. Too bad their CVTs destroy their rugged trail ability and they're putting it in everything. You know the car can totally make it up an obstacle Genevive McDonald wrote on November 4, - pm Permalink. I'm working my ass off. I did go trade with Subaru. No Dice?.

Even with latest firmware update, it's slow and requires way too much interaction with it for simple things like HVAC controls.

I couldn't recommend this car at all for seniors who are typically tech-challenged to begin with. The car itself is outstanding, but the Infotainment system and lack of physical buttons for virtually everything is a huge problem with this car IMHO. Linda wrote on October 6, - pm Permalink. I agree with the infotainment package. I am the owner of a Outback and not a senior. I think it is difficult to navigate while driving. It is complex. I still have my car and will keep it.

That traction equates to a stickiness you don't get in alot of the other SUVs. Yup pretty much. It actually is based off a Toyota Corolla platform.

I think getting rid of the V6 and reducing the road clearance was a huge mistake for lineup that was supposedly an all conditions vehicle. Aug 3, 9, 2 NutBucket Lifer. Aug 30, 26, The main reason Subaru fuel economy suffered for so long was the ancient 4 speed automatic. I've found the epa numbers for our Forester are pretty spot on.

Jul 2, 2, For example, if the Subaru needed to send a large amount of torque to the left rear wheel only, it would lock the center differential's clutch and lock the brakes on the front and right rear wheels they would be spinning freely otherwise since they have no traction. A good amount of torque from the engine will then transfer to the left rear wheel, enough to make the Subaru climb in the roller test. I mean mechanically, why specifically aren't they as good?

Like I said, Subaru can make their cars FWD with "rear wheel assist" by simply telling the computer to disengage the center differential clutch. I can't imagine a mechanical reason for Honda or Toyota other than having a really shitty clutch-type center diff that can't lock Dec 4, 18, 1 0.

Here the two spend a great deal of time just messing around with each other and enjoying the others company. There's even the moment where they both stare up at the moon together during this arc. If we are talking tropes in anime, saying, "The moon is beautiful tonight," tends to imply romantic feelings. It happens in so many romance-centric anime that it may as well be a prerequisite.

This both a positive and a negative when you think about it. If someone knows you're always going to be there for them, you end up falling into that second choice position. It happens all of the time in real relationships and is happening to a degree in this anime. It's still a positive though, as that level of devotion can be hard to find.

You're rarely ever going to find someone who will be with you through thick and thin, no matter what. Rem's devotion is so high that Subaru could send her off to her death, and she'd probably gleefully march off.

During the mansion arc, Emilia is the one that defends Subaru from Roswaal and Ram, despite the circumstances. She does this because she cares deeply for him. She is also that shoulder to cry on during one of Subaru's most emotional moments. People will point to the argument they had in the third arc that led to their separation. It's certainly a valid counterpoint, but the whole reason it even existed is that Emilia tried to shut herself down emotionally, not believing anyone could love her.

Arguments are going to happen between even the most caring of people. The fact they both cared for one another after is touching and real. Unlike Emilia, who is certainly there emotionally consistently, Rem is willing to put her own life on the line. When Subaru is kidnapped, Rem goes to save him, having every bone in her body broken in the process. This shows how devoted she is to him more than any words could.

If that wasn't enough, she used her last bit of magic to free him from his bonds, dying soon after. She naturally comes back due to Subaru's power, but it doesn't take away the lengths she was willing to go to protect him.
